Frequently Asked Questionss
What is Rustin’s expertise?
Rustin is a historic player in the French industry, specialized in the design and manufacturing of sealing solutions and technical elastomer components. We support companies in the aerospace, automotive, railway, defense, and general industry sectors by providing reliable, durable solutions tailored to their specific requirements.
What types of products do you offer?
We design and manufacture a wide variety of solutions, from seals and stoppers to protective components, as well as Rustines®, technical strips, and molded elastomer parts. We also produce metal/rubber assemblies. Each product can be adapted to the mechanical, thermal, or chemical constraints of your application.
Do you work with specific materials?
Yes. We formulate and process numerous elastomers such as EPDM, NBR, CR, FKM, silicone, and NR. Our laboratories also develop in-house blends to adjust hardness, temperature resistance, performance in aggressive environments, or mechanical properties according to your specifications.
Do you offer custom solutions?
Yes. Our design office assists clients in creating fully customized solutions. We intervene from the initial needs analysis to select the appropriate material, optimize part geometry, propose realistic tolerances, produce prototypes, conduct tests, and ensure series production. Each project follows a rigorous process to guarantee the performance and reliability of the final product.
What manufacturing processes do you use?
Our equipment allows us to handle a wide range of projects through molding (compression, transfer, or injection), extrusion, cutting, or metal/rubber overmolding. We also master vulcanization, whether carried out in press or in salt bath. This diversity of processes enables us to produce both simple parts and very complex geometries.
Do you carry out testing and quality controls?
Yes. Our laboratories are equipped to perform all necessary tests to validate components: mechanical measurements, thermal or chemical aging tests, 21 dimensional inspections, metrological checks, adhesion tests, and endurance tests. Test reports and certificates of conformity are provided upon request.
Which industry sectors do you serve?
We work with numerous industrial sectors, including aerospace, space, automotive, railway, defense, energy, and general industry. Our solutions are developed in compliance with the standards and requirements specific to each field, such as EN, ISO, or ASTM.
What are your production lead times?
Lead times depend on the nature of the project. Products from our catalog are generally available quickly. Custom parts require a phase of study, prototyping, and validation, the duration of which varies depending on part complexity, testing requirements, and production volumes.
How can I request a quote or start a project?
Simply contact our sales team via the online form or by email. For faster processing, please provide your plans, technical specifications, expected quantities, and any other information relevant to understanding your needs.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We deliver our products in France and worldwide through a reliable logistics network adapted to industrial requirements.
